It’s May ~ spring hasn’t quite sprung ~ but these May magazine covers stun! Willow Smith, Zendaya, Chloe & Halle Bailey & First Lady Michelle Obama share advice on how to be yourself & create a life that you love.
Teen Vogue magazine calls cover girl Willow Smith the “coolest girl in the galaxy” & gives us a glimpse into her world. “Being a young African-American woman with dreads, it blows my mind that I’m a Chanel ambassador. Like, how am I a Chanel ambassador?” she marvels. “It is so beautiful. I’m coming into a new part of my life that is completely unknown, and I’m jumping right in. All I can do from here is continue to shift paradigms and continue to push the envelope further and further. But I am doing it every day just by being myself.”
Check out a blonde Zendaya, one of Marie Claire‘s 2016 Fresh Faces. Here’s what she told them is behind her return to Disney Channel ~ “A big reason why I wanted to come back to Disney is because I saw a lack of diversity on the channel. To see a black family, to see a young girl with these adorable Afro puffs…little things like that are so important.” Shout out to actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw for also making the cover girl cut!
Halle & Chloe Bailey
Teen singing sensations, Chloe & Halle Bailey bless NY Mag, who crowns them the “First Superstars of the Beyonce Generation.” Not sure what that means, since Beyonce covers like every generation, but they are definitely doing their thing. Get to know them a little better. “Vision boarding has become something of a Bailey sisters New Year’s tradition. They make at least one each at the start of every year and save the old ones for comparison. “It’s things that we’d like to speak into existence or for our life to be like, says Chloe.” And with Beyonce as a mentor and Michelle, Malia & Sasha Obama as big fans, we can’t wait to see what’s next. Speaking of the First Lady…
First Lady Michelle Obama
As teens, we often can’t wait to grow up – make our own decisions & live life according to our own rules. In the May issue of Seventeen magazine, First Lady Michelle Obama shares her advice on growing up. Check it out ~
“I always tell people, the question of what you want to be when you grow up is one that you will eternally be answering. I’m still asking myself that question!” Mrs. Obama says. “What am I going to do when I leave here? How do I want to impact the world? I’ve gotten used to the fact that I don’t have to know. I’m always going to be discovering new parts of myself, and you’ll find that you will be too.”
~ Go forth and be great!
